bye bye Frontera

#throwbackthursday to my last gig of the year and also the last time that I am standing on this lovely stage of Frontera, as it’s gonna cease its operations by 2018.

This place is special to many indie singer-songwriters as its platform is where we all started. I can testify to this as it helped me to craft my skill as performer, at the same time, forge many friendships in this place, which many are wonderful people that I know in the Malaysian music scene.

And I will never forget the food and drinks there. So as we said our goodbyes here, it’s not an end to an era but looking forward , I believe there’s great things ahead for all of us. Including you Ramesh , thank you for allowing us to be there and your hospitality.

Yes, I guess I will see around in some of @openmicmalaysia venues. 2018 is gonna be awesome, in terms of everything.

2017 recap

2017 have been an interesting yet wonderful year, in terms of my music project.

Looking back, I realized this year I actually performed a lot in public platform.

I looked at it as a blessings from God because I had opportunities to meet new friends and share what my life is all about. I actually kinda amazed by their responses and all of these are valuable encouragement to me. In fact, each venue I’ve been have always brought new lessons for me.

I am happy with what I achieve this year. Apart from playing in various venues, i had the opportunity to witness other people singing the song I wrote, having my songs on podcast and laying foundation for more of my songs to be broadcast or stream online.

I am not resting on my laurels yet because there is so much to improve and learn.

But nevertheless, so much to give thanks and so much to look forward.

Can’t wait to share with you that 2018, there’s exciting things coming up. This means i need a lot of your prayers and support. So, please stay connected with my music project social media updates so you don’t miss out.

DECEMBER lineup!

DECEMBER IS HERE!

As promised, here's another TRIPLE THREAT for you all and peeps, YOU MUST BE THERE!

The best part of all these gigs is that there's plenty of superb talented people appearing alongside me. Hey, it's Christmas, we shouldn't do things alone right?

Alright, the plan is this :-
21st December is at Gaslight. It's my first time there and featuring as well on that night is the talented Darien Foo​. He is a master of what he does, so it's a venue you need to be there!

22nd December is back at the most loved venue called Ground Eatery​. I will be singing and sharing, alongside friends like RELENT and Grace Pang​. If hearing beautiful songs ain't enough, the food there is brilliant and delicious. Trust me, that's why I love going there.

23rd December, there's a Christmas special at FCC. I will be opening the night before the main act, which is a musical drama that you must not miss! Details are at 最好的礼物 Best Gift Ever

triple threat

Past few days have been crazy. 3 shows in a row. Never thought I would have done something like this. 

My buddy Neil (of RELENT) said something that sum up what I am passionate about - paraphrasing him, “we just need to move out of our comfort zone to share the message of love to the world”

So that’s the foundation of what I do and what I am passionate about.
 
I am just grateful for the experiences from these few days and also for the people I met. Huge thanks to everyone for the love and support.
 
Probably will be taking a breather for awhile but do stay tuned to my fb music page for updates.
Like i said yesterday - best is yet to come.

Can you believe it? 300 days have come and gone, with 2018 is coming soon.

Each day have given me an opportunity to be grateful for things around me even though there were some tough days. It’s easy to be thankful when things are good but what is our attitude when things aren’t going the way it supposed to be? 

That being said, I am thankful for all the blessings and opportunities that happened so far in many areas of my life. Believing that the best is yet to come.

This weekend, let’s celebrate life together, starting tonight at #soundstrucklive

8th anniversary of THIS ROAD

WOW.

8 years.

8 might be auspicious for Asian context but like I always say, anniversary always gives me the opportunity to look back and be thankful for everything.

I think over the past 8 years, I have said my "thank you"s and sharing thoughts about my journey as singer-songwriter a lot already. The message would be the same though this year, but to be honest I wouldn't be at where I am today without your love, support, advice, pushes, pain, tears and prayers. Like anyone else, I always struggle with a lot of thoughts and sometimes it takes a lot out of me to stay strong. Also, thanks to all of your kinds words that keeps me going on. That being said, as long as I have life, I will give my best.

In an ideal world, I would wanna do a party or do something crazy to mark the anniversary. Actually more of thanking you all so much for everything. Maybe someday it will happen, but in the crazy world of uncertainties, everyday I learn to trust God for the best, and He will always provide.


So cheers for 8 years of THIS ROAD and hopefully, THIS ROAD will be a journey that will never end.

5th anniversary

Can't believe it's been 5 years since the 2nd album was out -- "the day after".

Quite appropriate that my song TODAY was aired last week in a local podcast.

There was so many tears and sweat involved. There was so many joy and gratitude involved too.

Looking back, I believe all is worth it even though there's a lot of things happened behind the scenes, especially stories and testimonies. This journey has never short of hardwork and heartaches. 

Perseverance has always been the key for me.
 

My encouragement to you all, no matter which path you are in, stay strong and pursue your God-given dreams with faith and hope. 


As much as today's news have been overwhelmed by the passing of Chester Bennington, it's a reminder that life is short and we should spread love instead of hate.

His talent are among those who inspired the singer-songwriter like me and I pray these albums and songs will inspire more people out there that life is worth living.

It has been an incredible journey since and I want to thank all of you for the love shown. Looking forward to greater things ahead.

Greater things are yet to come.

It's any songwriters' dream to have their own songs to be aired in public so really, all glory to God!


I've been waiting for times like these and thank God for the strength to persevere. Thank you Rhema Radio for featuring the song that pretty much captures what life is all about and in fact, one of the lyrics in this song reflects my heart that my song will be on air someday. You can say my faith, dream or prophecy came true!

Another gig at Playspace, that means another episode for TLog!

Yours truly had the privilege to be among the acts that involved in this music festival which headlined by Pacific (from Australia). It was an awesome night of music, unfortunately I was tired to stay the whole day, thus the video was till Pacific act :S

Anyway, big kudos to Darren Teh (of An Honest Mistake) for organizing it and all the acts that did awesomely.

2nd July -- Playspace gig

Playspace gig was another memorable one for me. Played alongside wonderful bands and meeting a lot of people. I am humbled by their comments even though I feel there's a lot of areas for me to improve.

Thank You God for the opportunity. Thank you to those who came. Thank you timlimproject band for this round, i think this have been an eye opener experience for you all.

I was reminded in some way and another that life is short, so be positive and just take strides. I pray that I have the strength to face each day, by God's grace.

Overall, another priceless experience.

Looking forward to a new experience in next one, which is in Penang. But doing solo this time. Ha!
