Basically my 2nd album
THE DAY AFTER received a recommendation on this local music website.
Just say it's like our local "Rolling Stones" which covers the local
music scene.
What an exciting news before 2018 comes! Only the
Big Guy up there can make all this possible. Yes, I believe 2018 is
gonna be awesome =)
Yup, stay tuned with my social media for the updates especially my music page Tim Lim.
Credit to you both Jonathan Tse Tinn Vai and Darren Teh for making all this a reality.
Best part of the article : even my wife got mentioned. hahaha.
2017 have been an interesting yet wonderful year, in terms of my music project.
Looking back, I realized this year I actually performed a lot in public platform.
I
looked at it as a blessings from God because I had opportunities to
meet new friends and share what my life is all about. I actually kinda
amazed by their responses and all of these are valuable encouragement to
me. In fact, each venue I’ve been have always brought new lessons for
me.
I am happy with what I achieve this year. Apart
from playing in various venues, i had the opportunity to witness other
people singing the song I wrote, having my songs on podcast and laying
foundation for more of my songs to be broadcast or stream online.
I am not resting on my laurels yet because there is so much to improve and learn.
But nevertheless, so much to give thanks and so much to look forward.
Can’t
wait to share with you that 2018, there’s exciting things coming up.
This means i need a lot of your prayers and support. So, please stay
connected with my music project social media updates so you don’t miss
out.
Huge cheers to you all for a great 2017. Next year will be awesome!
I wanna congratulate my friends at OneAccordMinistry for the release of the new worship album — “forgiven seas”
I am listening to it right now and totally blessed by the songs.
I also had the honour to be involved in a small way, by writing “for you are with us” with my buddy Neil
for this album. My heart just overwhelmed when I heard the live
recording version. Thank you bro for allowing me to be part of what God
is doing in this nation and beyond.
Meanwhile, just
let you know the album is now available on Spotify, itunes and also in
physical CD. Please buy the album, it’s really worth it!
All that has happened is really a dream come true for me. All glory to God
Past few days have been crazy. 3 shows in a row. Never thought I would have done something like this. My buddy Neil (of RELENT)
said something that sum up what I am passionate about - paraphrasing
him, “we just need to move out of our comfort zone to share the message
of love to the world”
So that’s the foundation of what I do and what I am passionate about.
I
am just grateful for the experiences from these few days and also for
the people I met. Huge thanks to everyone for the love and support.
Probably will be taking a breather for awhile but do stay tuned to my fb music page for updates. Like i said yesterday - best is yet to come.
Last night, Van Whale
send me her Instagram posts about her short cover of my original song
"Lost in love/Amazing Grace". Thank you very much for it. Lovely.
Totally encouraged by it to know how my songs have been a blessing. Best is yet to come, I always believe.
It's any songwriters' dream to have their own songs to be aired in public so really, all glory to God!
I've been waiting for times like these and thank God for the strength
to persevere. Thank you Rhema Radio for featuring the song that pretty
much captures what life is all about and in fact, one of the lyrics in
this song reflects my heart that my song will be on air someday. You can say my faith, dream or prophecy came true!
What a blessing. I believe more will come, till then, let the music play and share the good news yo!
Playspace gig was another memorable one for
me. Played alongside wonderful bands and meeting a lot of people. I am
humbled by their comments even though I feel there's a lot of areas for
me to improve.
Thank You God for the opportunity. Thank you to
those who came. Thank you timlimproject band for this round, i think
this have been an eye opener experience for you all.
I was reminded in some way and another that life is short, so be
positive and just take strides. I pray that I have the strength to face
each day, by God's grace.
Overall, another priceless experience.
Looking forward to a new experience in next one, which is in Penang. But doing solo this time. Ha!
I think this picture best captures what's my life is all about -- loving God, loving life, loving music, loving MU.
I admit there are days where I literally forgotten how old I am. Maybe
because there's so many exciting things in life. Maybe there's a lot
things happening around me. Maybe I am trying to take life as it is.
Maybe I been spending a lot of my time with young people.
So, I guess it's good that I am reminded how old (or how young) I am.
At the same time, I am always reminded that God is always faithful and
good.
No matter what the future holds, I believe the best will come.
There's a Switchfoot song that goes like "life is short, i want to live
it well". It's true, life is too short to spend on negativity so let's
get the positive vibes going. It's not being naive but knowing that we
can make it through life when we stay strong.
Thank you all for the love on my birthday. Cheers and much love to ya all.
Many years ago, I love editing and recording videos until recent times, I got a bit lazy.
Well, I told myself, I can't be lazy anymore but to continue to put my
skills to good use. So, that's why I "reboot" or "restart" my effort in
vlog too.
A simple vlog that covered last Thursday's Heartcore
gig. While you munch your lunch, enjoy it! I promise there's nothing
that will make you vomit your food.
Do feedback to me if you like it, but I think there's more to come.. haha..
Last week was really an interesting week of gigs. Frontera,
W_are_house, Soundstruck. Grateful for the opportunity, grateful for
every feedback, grateful for the people I met especially in making new
acquaintances.
Sometimes this journey is so hard and many times i
feel like quitting. Sometimes I am misjudged and misunderstood, which
it sometimes hurts me. But I thank God, through the people I met and in
my life, I am reminded that only He can
open and close doors in my life. Never take anything for granted, never
look down on the journey that God has led you. Keep the passion going.
Someone, during one of my recent gig, gave me a golden advice --
"disappointment and rejection can only make you stronger". Man, when I
heard that, it just break me inside and I feel as though God is speaking
to me.
Anyway, thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. Let's hustle on!
Catching up with #heartcore family. I love these meetings, where i get to meet with different people from different church backgrounds. What unite us is our passion and heart for God. Personally, there's so much to learn from them. I hope their passion will encourage and challenge me onwards to do great things for God. Looking forward to a great 2017 with the #heartcorefam
Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
In working or in waiting, another year with Thee;
Another year of progress, another year of praise,
Another year of proving Thy presence all the days.
Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace,
Another year of gladness in the shining of Thy face;
Another year of leaning upon Thy loving breast;
Another year of trusting, of quiet, happy rest.
Another year of service, of witness for Thy love,
Another year of training for holier work above;
Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
On earth, or else in Heaven, another year for Thee.
One of my 2016 resolution is to get this music/gig train running again
after some quiet time in KK. I set out to do it, with a prayerful heart.
Looking back, I am grateful to God for His grace in fulfilling that
resolution.
There were lots of memorable moments and I am
thankful for it. I am grateful for all the friends I made throughout
this journey. They are wonderful and their love for music inspires me to be better.
2017 is going to be awesome. I just can feel it. Anyway, please follow Tim Lim for the updates. There's ideas waiting to be shared, time will tell what it is all about.
A huge thanks for all the support and love. Cheers and much love.
I was briefly mentioned on a local Christian website.
Ok, largely the article is about what's heartcore is all about. I am so
honoured to be part of something that is bigger than myself.
Meanwhile, free advertisement for Faith Christian Centre since all the pictures taken from the recent #fccgoesheartcore event. And one of the songs performed that night is riding high on Hitz.fm
THIS
ROAD was a reflection of my life journey prior to its release. The
inspiration behind the name THIS ROAD actually came from Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken" poem. Why I love that poem is that it reflects the decision we make in our life.
The
songs basically reflect the album name itself. It was really a step
unto the unknown and a lot of people think I was crazy to produce an
album. 7 years on, I learnt a lot and I feel there's so much to learn as
singer-songwriter, musician and a child of God. Today, as I look back, again I am thankful for all the support and experience shown. Looking
ahead, while there's opportunities and life, I determined to do my
best. There are moments where I feel like giving up but somehow I am
still thriving. A
lot have asked about 3rd album. I can't say when but again, it's down
to God's timing. I am writing new materials now and I am excited about
it. But let's see how this goes from here.
Once again, thank you all. I believe there's better things ahead for all of us =)
I thought I want to share this testimony. A testimony to show of God's grace and glory.
I guess a lot of people's impression that I came out with this awesome pun concert name called Heartcore. hahaha. Sorry it wasn't me but well, read about the story here about it means actually..
In a nutshell, Heartcore is all about our hearts being centered on God, coming back to heart in serving and worship. So it's appropriate that this concert, the heart of it is God Himself.
To organize Heartcore in FCC is not easy. The details to look into was taxing. It's tiring, can't stress that more, when some people give unnecessary stress on details. I know a lot of people often say "this guy always love to do concert", truth is.. doing concert is not easy and I don't do it for the sake of doing it. To add to that, a lot of people have different views what a concert should be.. moreover, an "evangelistic concert". But looking up to God is the remedy. Often, I trust God will move in ways that we cannot imagine.
One of the faint ideas I have prior to coming to KL is to explore doing a concert this year at FCC. I actually prayed about it. I've been going around with ideas like doing one on our own or get performers in (something like what I have done with RELENT over the years).
I actually heard and read about Heartcore tour, in fact Neil (of RELENT) shared with me about it. I love their idea and it's actually my dream (or vision) to be part of something big for God. I did roughly kept in touch with Jeff Kumar on Facebook and we've met up occasionally but it was my meeting with Darren Teh (An Honest Mistake singer who also plays bass in AOT) that changes everything.
We talked more about the Heartcore initiative and it is exactly what I love to be part of. Then immediately I sold that idea to my senior pastor who so happened to be at where we were discussing. Since then, ground work has been laid.
What I am trying to say is as I reflect back on what happened, I learn that when you commit your plans to God, when you seek Him then you go and work on it, God will open doors.
Another dream come true for me is to work together with AOT. I heard of them since I was young and they are the band that inspired me to go all out for God in music. I always hope to meet them someday, perhaps to collaborate on something.
It was this song that changed my view on music especially local Christian music. I have heard Christian hard rock albums before, especially from America (think Kutless, Relient K, Thousand foot krutch) but for something local like this, I feel that's something to take note of. And yes, I keep looping this song every now and then. Even today. CLASSIC =)
Many years on, here I am today with my own songs and albums with a purpose all out for God. All thanks to God's leading that we have the opportunity to meet and now, we are working together on this mission to use local Christian music to impact the nation here and beyond. We have been keeping in touch a lot lately because we are totally sold out on this mission and it's exciting to see how God is leading us towards that mission. Loving the fact I am part of something that is bigger than myself.
In summary, only God can make this radical dream come true and possible. Only GOD.
This whole experience can only inspire me to trust in God for open doors and a reminder that the best is yet to come.
I hope this inspires you as well to live and pursue God for your dreams, ambitions and hopes. It can be music, it can be arts, it can be a working field, it can be in an area or a mission field that God has planted in you.
I always love what C.S. Lewis said — 'You are never too old to set another goal, or to dream a new dream.'
Anyway, thanks all for being part of this awesome concert. The testimonies I hear so far have been encouraging. At the same time, I appreciate all the feedback that I have hear.
Thanks to all the acts -- Army of Three, Relent, Joanne&Julia, South&the Lowlands and Kent Sim. Thanks cell leaders and ushers in doing the ground work. Thank you everyone who came, I believed you are blessed by what God is doing through everyone's gift -- be it music or the ushering.
It was actually a "farewell
present" to me by St Peter's Church Youth when i left Ipoh for studies in KL, close to
10 years ago. I admit at first, I didn't really appreciate it because it
is bulky and heavy, to a point I didn't bring it with me to KL. But
once I got my own guitar in 2009, this case has served me so well
especially in protecting my guitar and have travelled with me to a lot
of places (both massive or small gigs) despite being big.
So, never underestimate the power of gifts. You never know how much of a difference it can make.
I am not sure if i have said it before but thank you for this wonderful gift, peeps.
Meanwhile, i wanna thank you all for coming to my open mic gigs or
seeing it live on fb. I will probably doing a few more in June and
probably also have exciting stuff coming up. So, stay tuned....
this Christmas have been one of the most tiring in recent memory.
I am
going to admit that with the remaining days left for 2015, I am very
much overwhelmed with so many things in my mind. Sometimes I wish I have
more time and energy or even wished I could have done things better. A
lot of things haven't really sink in yet for me and praying for the
strength to endure the remaining 2015.
But let me end by saying, despite
the tiredness, I am blessed to have friends like you all, both near and
far.
Merry Christmas again and to borrow Bishop Moon Hing's greetings :
"May the force of the Almighty God help you push out the darkside of
your life and ministry".
This mic was the mic that i used during the recording of my first song for my first album.
From one song to more songs to then to one album then another album.. The journey goes on and on...
Anniversary of my album release always allows me to reflect back on the
journey so far and be thankful. It is not so much about bragging
rights, because there is nothing to brag about but it's all about God's
Grace through out this journey.
I
am thankful for all the support from you all again & again. even
sometimes i am embarrassed by questions like when is the next album
coming out. I want to assure you that it is in my mind and some
groundwork is taking place. I cannot confirm when it is out but i
promise to inform once everything is in place.
Nevertheless, i want to appreciate your undying support over the years
As this week is celebration of THIS ROAD's 6th anniversary, i want to
let everyone know that the [online EP] is free for download!
